Paris SS’14 MFW highlights—Dior Homme

The Look: Christian Dior’s written word…

Dior Homme‘s creative director, Kris Van Assche, is on bold form this SS’15. You can tell that the man is on to something when he is able to blend, with subtlety and success, both the maison’s history with his own futuristic vision of what the brand should be.

From the get-go, Monsieur Dior himself was eminent. A handwritten note from ‘X-tian’ (as he was wont to sign off on his personal correspondences) marked the invite, along with an abstract print by M/M Paris. From cursive script and handwritten text, to the written word’s gradual evolution into graphic lines and vibrant scribbles, the collection was both inspired and playful.

Colours… were daring, with a brilliant pop of bright reds and yellows, along with some exuberant multi-coloured strokes along bags, trousers and even all over full suits.

Finally… with easy-going sportive sneakers and looks that were layered with just the right amount of laissez-faire, it feels like the Dior man is finally loosening up, kicking back and enjoying his summer.
